hello, reading public!
I am sure you will all be fascinated to hear that i am still excited about capoeira, and talking about it far too much. last night we did some crazy handstand things ( 1. handstand with someone holding your feet, lower yourself into a headstand, push yourself back up, 2. as you go into a handstand you move your hands around on the floor so that you're doing some kind of breakdancing thing). and i could almost do them, a bit. at least the first one i could, and the second one i think if i practice a fair bit i will be able to do badly. how nifty for me!
and i was meeting nick at the moon to look at pictures, and bumped into simon and snick. which was pleasant. and now i'm going to go see crooked fingers with snick and mr wolf. hooray! plus also mr wolf was there with his scottish friend, so it was people galore!
and this morning i was extra good and got up at 6am to do my washing, so the cycle in to uni was pleasant and not too full of cars. and then, after a week of tutorials in which students just yelled at each other (in an undirected way), my class today was cooperative and wonderful. they're doing a UN simulation exercise, and i'm not meant to guide the class during it, which is why some of the classes have been....repetitive. but the UN Secretary General for today's class led them beautifully, every country took the most cooperative position possible...it was...unlikely, but pleasant.
in other news:
* today a linguist gave me a lead in trying to track down Vandana Shiva,
* mr wolf is moving today, and i am very excited about it(which i realise is odd)
* capoeira angola tonight!
* does anyone want to go to plasticine with me (and boxer_the_horse, though he is as yet unaware - surprise!) around ten tonight? they have cheap drinks, a pleasant lack of crowds, and a barman with a cool accent.
* i like uni today.
that is all.

on 2005-10-13 01:18 pm (UTC)but! i was japan. i spent most of the time convincing everyone to be nice to each other because nuclear power is horrible thing to happen to you and no-one else could really argue with that. but we had an excellent US, egypt, pakistan and china, so i generally didn't really have to say much. i can't remember who india was. oh and whoever was the representative of the kashmiri conglomerate was quite good too. that seems so long ago now. at least i know that i will never be political scientist! that is the reason i'm glad i've done several units. so, got some career direction for me?
