secret showers

Started marking the essays last night. Only got through two, but just glancing through them I'm already impressed by the amount of weirdness that they've contributed, including:
* a student who decided my last night is "magel" (or maybe "magec"),
* a student who stapled their essay on the top left-hand side, but then attached the cover sheet upside-down, stapling the bottom right-hand side and making it impossible to open the damn thing,
* a heap of students have taken on the "don't do this question unless you're crazy" question, which only one or two students did last year.
I look forward to actually starting to read these, and seeing what new wonders arise.
Last night I abandoned my plans to be productive and mark essays, take notes on Rhyming hope and history (I wish I could just renew interlibrary loans), write some long-overdue letters, &tc. Liz and I cooked some dinner in our kitchen-that-now-has-stuff-in, and we all drank some wine and watched Jay and Silent Bob while I did some crocheting. Not a bad evening, as these things go.
(Although Jarrad and Lisa were ignoring us, because they're rude.)
Up at a bit past six this morning, cycled in again. It took around thirty minutes, which gave me plenty of time to wander around the building trying to find a shower. I failed in the end, and went to the sports centre, but detective work (alright, "asking someone") has now helped me locate the secret showers hidden in an alcove in a corner of the first floor.
The End.
