Seven things I plan to do before I die:
1. Get some fiction and some non-fiction published. (Also: revise my academic writing style.)
2. Be involved in nifty world-changing, even if it's only little.
3. Have a baby (or two!)
4. Learn another language (or three!)
5. Learn to dance (swing or jive or similar, or bellydancing) really well.
6. Get my next cord in capoeira (or, if I'm really ambitious, get my yellow cord and teach).
7. Organise my life by a principle other than default settings. (This may involve living on a boat.)
Seven things that I can do:
1. Win an argument by turning it into an examination of how the other person's beliefs correlate with their life choices. (Also: convince people of the error of their ways.)
2. Write good, but not necessarily interesting, essays.
3. Cook a pleasant meal for a large group.
4. Make possibly life-changing decisions on an impulse.
5. See beauty and wonder in the everyday.
6. Write short stories in one sitting.
7. Push myself to do things that scare me.
Seven things I cannot do:
1. Get people to change their lives so they don't continue with the error of their ways.
2. Stop reading.
3. Cook a pleasant meal for a large group and not end up with a whole fridge full of leftovers.
4. Make small and relatively unimportant decisions quickly.
5. Drive. (Cars scare the stuffing out of me.)
6. Write short stories that involve planning and editing.
7. Become comfortable with a lack of punctuality.
Seven things that attract me:
1. Intelligence.
2. Reading (the right sort of books! Tom Clancy readers, elitist as this may be, simply do not attract.)
3. A social conscience. I like people who are working for a better world.
4. I like people who are constantly challenging themselves - learning and doing new things.
5. A willingness to put up with my frequent need to adjust other people's physical orientation towards me. This may involve holding my hand when I'm scared to be around people, changing the angle at which they're facing me when we sit together, walking slightly in front of or behind me, or letting me grab their hand and spread their fingers over my face so that I can smell their palm.
6. Because I am easily bought - treats. People who will cook for me, give me frequent backrubs, read to me in bed, and so on.
7. The ability to challenge me. Someone who will question me, push me to try new things and do better in old things, someone who takes an interest in the things that I'm doing with my life and looks for ways to extend me in them.
Eep! This did take a long time! I have to go now, so I guess I'll finish this another day. I tag anyone who's reading this and hasn't already done it! (For the full list, look at boofuls' or tiny_monster's pages.) Of course, I add to it: Seven books that are important to you.
