i was sad yesterday afternoon. cried for an hour without quite knowing why.
except that i get worn out by the world always being such an uphill battle. i want something to be easy.

but, managed to convince myself that capoeira would help, and it did - there's not much time for feeling sorry for myself with belts to make, maculele to practice, and mestre pinto's classes.

a little disappointed that we just had one big roda instead of lots of little ones again - it would have been good to get a bit more practice in. still, was good. and i can do one-handed cartwheels! (not well, but i can do them.) and also a thing where you bend over backwards into ponch (arched back, a "U" shape on hands and feets) and then come back around...all without dropping myself on my head!

still feeling a bit down today, partly because of sleeping in and partly because of the weather, i think. another gloomy day. still, i am confident that i will deal with all the gloom.

and tonight i will go to the aberdeen and listen to the samba band and maybe even dance.

Dancing makes the happy!

Exercise is also good- endorphins I guess. There is a L'Oreal moisturiser called 'HappyDerm' which contains 'phytodorphins', which are scientifically formulated by scientists to give you happy skin! I don't even have to use this product to feel happy- just thinking about it makes me laugh. Isn't there supposed to be some kind of federal body to regulate this sort of thing? (Misleading advertising, that it, not happiness.)

Last time I cried The Dog stopped scratching at the door to be let out and came and put his head on my knee. Then he lay under my desk and stayed with me till I stopped.

One-handed cartwheels: man that is cool.

Im starting to come to the conclusion that capoera is just a belt making sweat shop. If your belt making skills are sub standard you accidently get kicked in the head every so often and forced to perform tricks to a paying crowd instead.

This so called dancing is before or after im going to some place with a remarkably similar sounding name right? RIGHT!

SKYYYYY!!!!! HAIKUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

Dude, the best haiku ever was written by my brain last night:

Live long and prosper
Klingons on the starboard bow
Beam me up Scotty

If this doesn't cheer you up... um... YOU SUCK!

In the beginning
We had hope, now all we have
Are books and records.

That is not a cheering-up poem!

I like it a lot though.
