These bear little connection to each other

1. The other day S. used the term "blow job" during her lecture. This was not in any way a metaphorical reference. She was talking about fellatio. Public fellatio. On a plane.
2. Bantus Capoeira closing party is on 24th September at 7:30pm at the WA Italian club (225 Fitzgerald St). Tickets cost $25/20, so I quite understand if you don't come, but if you're into samba, capoeira, brazilian culture, etc, it will be a damn fine night for you. (I suspect it will be merely an embarrassing and somewhat irritating night for me.)
3. I have a homework assignment for capoeira! I have to present a research paper on "the use of music in capoeira and how and why it's used, explaining the significance of ladainha, chulas, corridos and quadras." This, at least, I am fairly sure that I can do.
4. I offered to help someone carry their bags today, as they looked rather overburdened getting off the bus. After chatting briefly names were swapped. Once he introduced himself as "crazy phil" it became increasingly clear that he was both crazy (the government, apparently, is photographing everything he does), and the phil that I have heard numerous unpleasant stories of from j's crowd. I fled at the first opportunity.
5. Marking.
