I take it all back
Sep. 6th, 2005 11:12 amI really enjoyed my tutorial this morning. I told them off, which was fun, about the things I complained about last entry. And then managed to direct discussion without lecturing them, which is something I aim for. And, then, when they started packing up early, I got to yell "oi!" and make them sit down and listen to things.
Plus, last night was excellent. Skipped stupid capoeira, hung around my house and baked my friendship-cake-thing, made myself some tomato soup (from scratch! without a recipe! and yes, i am aware this is very easy). Read more of Writing and Enjoying Haiku: A Hands-On Guide, by Jane Reichhold, which I am warming to. While the section on how to give poetry readings seemed a bit crazy to me, I still got inspired to chase down a few haikus I had in an old journal and edit them. Then hanging around at the pool hall, which was pleasant but with less pool than optimal, then back to mine to teach j. backgammon.
Very relaxed evening. Such a nice change. Kind of makes me want to quit capoeira but I'll aim for balance, instead.
Ok! to work!
