books and things

on saturday, i just wandered around. so nice to just amble around in the sunshine, doing things slowly. and i saw m. and d., which was very odd but still quite enjoyable. despite feeling a little like i was intruding i hung around for a fair while. m. gave me jonathon strange and mr norrell, by susannah clarke, to read.
so of course all of saturday night and large parts of sunday were taken up reading. it's one of those books that i like falling into, just wandering around inside the story.
i am not sure. i think it's possible that some people might find it somewhat slow and uneventful (although i don't think it is). also, i found the ending unsatisfying, but i think that may just be me.
it was very well written. i love books that interweave the fantastic with the historical in such a matter-of-fact way.

I feel like an idiot though when he trying to make a point about if the people who saw god were crazy or if everyone that didnt see god was crazy. I kinda waited till the end of his blurb and just shrugged and said the ones that saw god were definately the crazy ones. Totally forgetting that he is pretty religious.
