don't hide your light under a bushel
Jul. 2nd, 2005 05:24 pmso, yesterday, it was really hard to work. because i was just in the mood for dancing, and playing capoeira.
and then - capoeira! i went to class, despite my stupid sprained ligament. just did a few warm-ups, stretches, then went and sat in the corner and tried to play berimbau. my little finger and my wrist get so sore!
and then - roda in the city! although there weren't that many people there, it was still excellent...i was very much in the mood for it, and although i wasn't managing any particularly impressive moves my game felt like it flowed well. and, most exciting, miss n came along to watch. it made me stupidly happy.
and then - dinner with t, with whom i had pleasant conversation despite his obvious intentions.
and then - a pub with irish music, where i had excellent conversation with r (some young ladies do not, after all, make me so nervous), told off liberal voters, did some more sparring (with someone competent, who gave me honest and limited compliments - happy), and generally bounced around on a post-capoeira high.
and then - wandering around northbridge.
and then - capoeira this morning, more berimbau, and making friends with capoeira kids.
as you can see, capoeira is taking over my life. i'm enjoying it so much right now, and i want to be going to a lot of classes. and i'm starting to at least feel comfortable around the others, which is nice.
i will work on more exciting posts. i promise.
