weird things

me: ok, i have to go home now.
byron: oh. will you come back?
me: well, maybe i'll come back. or maybe i'll go to antarctica. should i go to antarctica?
byron: [puts thinking face on] i think penguins are kind of naughty. and they are very big.
me: so maybe i won't go to antarctica.
byron: yeah. [does impression of penguin walking for me]
me: [heart pops]
also, when i left, he had no goodbye kiss for me. but he had one 'spare kiss', so it was ok.
[interlude]
last night, as we were cycling home (after an excellent evening, may i say) a little red car came screaming down the street in front of us. just as i was saying 'fuck. that's way too fast', it smashed into a white car that was coming out of a street a block down. i have no first aid training or anything (but again, i think i should) so we just left. shaking.
[interlude]
so i figured everyone else would be awake, and went to get mr wolf. and he came and sat with me so i could sleep without being scared, but it was no good because i just got more and more scared, even with him there and the light on. and then i was sure that there was something in the room, and that it was invisible, and that i knew exactly where it was and what it looked like. and i couldn't get rid of the idea, and it felt so real i was worried that in the morning it would still be there. it was eating all my fretting. but it's gone now. this seems like a worrying development.
