Ask the internet!
May. 22nd, 2006 01:12 amOkay. So I am thinking about getting a laptop and I can't decide.
Points for:
* I could work at home, and internet at home instead of in my office. This might help me make a better work/play divide in my online life.
* I could take it to conferences and for any further fieldwork.
* I think it would use far less energy, and be more amenable to some form of manual power-charging...thingummy.
* I could also work at not-work-or-home places, and feasibly do pleasant things like sit in cafes writing fiction.
Points against:
* Perhaps it's unnecessary, given that my current office-based desktop does a sufficient job? And I can always use Boys' Computers at home.
* Unnecessary expense.
* Unnecessary buying of electronics.
Opinions? Suggestions?
