in which job satisfaction is entirely absent

so i turned up at tutoring today, for the same kids who were just not there last week. and i'd called their mother last night, and checked that they were having tutoring, and she'd said yes.

so i thought, oh good. finally. we will sit down. i will plan innovative, fun, educational lessons. (i bought drawing paper and textas and glue and stuff. i had plans. oh the plans.)

turned up at their school.
waited.
waited.

not only did my students not come out, no other kids did. eventually walked around a bit. it appears that there was no school today.

*sigh*

so, once again, i'm updating from queen's park library. i'm getting to quite like it here.

oh well. guess i'd better head home before my train ticket expires.

novel? what novel?

i should be writing. nanowrimo is actually not going that badly - it seems unlikely that i'll get up to 50,000 words, but i am writing a lot more than i usually do. i'm up to around 4,000 words now.

unfortunately at the current point in the story my two protagonists are both 13, which means that either i have to find a way to fast-forward to some point in their lives when they're older, or i have to refrain from having any of my usual introspective, slightly disturbing and sexual interludes.

hmm.

the other problem with writing is that not only am i happy, but the house is becoming increasingly social.

to everyone who's making my life as wonderful as it is right now.

i should stop now. otherwise i'll write pages and pages (more). i might wander off and attempt to funnel some of that into my 'novel'. hah. anyway. we'll see.
