So anyway, we're moving house soon, which means I am full of excitement about New Junk. And of course, there are tiny voices in my head singing Ikea! Ikeaaaaaa!, but I'm trying hard to resist.
Which is very difficult, given that I've been
Purchases:
Two sets of earrings,
Two pairs of socks (one black-and-white stripes with skull and crossbones on them, another with clouds and stuff),
A new journal, which has a lovely cover and beautiful soft pages,
also...um.... okay, I think that might actually have been it.
But I've had a lot of wanting, for pretty clothes and a drop spindle and hand-spun yarn dyed with kool aid and ill-defined House Things and a sewing machine and pretty fabrics and so on and so forth...
Anyway. I'm stuck for what to do for a bed. I want something fairly minimal and low to the ground, so I was thinking maybe just a mattress. (Although the novelty and impracticality of this bed made of cardboard appeals.) Kale suggested maybe a mattress on some tatami mats, which sounds like a good idea. Now, much as I love recycling, I'd rather not get a mattress from an op-shop. But before I go out and buy a new mattress, I thought I'd ask The Internet if anyone has a mattress going unused - preferably one of the 10-15cm thick foam ones, but I'll consider anything. I am, of course, happy to give money for it.
Also, if anyone has other ideas on what to do for a bed I am open for suggestions!
In unrelated news, I quite like this advice on five ways to love a cockroach.
