* I fell asleep at the airport in Singapore after all. I remain proud of my sleeping skills.
* Groups: several groups of one or two adults + a heap of late-primary-school aged girls, all looking like they were fairly sure they were grown-up. muslim women in black. men snoring in the section playing the world cup.
* I released a bookcrossing book at the airport in Singapore, and then fretted a heap that someone might think it was a bomb.
* On the plane the guy next to me is running a business based around Bokashi composting. We get excited about treehugger and carbon neutralling for a while.
* A scrolling screen at the immigration desk, reminding us to have passports ready and telling us that "We (heart) the king! Long live the king!" Pacman appears now and then to munch down the words.
* The driver who takes me to my hotel doesn't speak english. We still manage to laugh about me having two bags for my five day trip. I'm still not sure if we were meant to be laughing because it was too much or too little.
* I decided not to wander the streets at night (although I'm in what looks like a nice area - Chinatown), mostly because I'm quite tired and should work on my presentation a bit more. They offer "High Speed Internet Service" in your room, so I thought I'd give it a go (for the full conference experience). To set up The Internet in a wired form, two people were sent up to my room with a basket. A basket full of wires, and also lined with gingham with lacy edges. Hurrah!
That is all!
