dear internet: please stop bringing me bad news

sharaf got a death threat today. some of the religious conservatives took offence at his discussion on whether music is haram on sunday night and wrote in to the paper saying that sharaf and the radio station he works at are funded by the west and are working against pakistan and islam. and if the station doesn't shut down transmission they will be forced to take action.

i also got an email informing me that apparently i'm meant to send in my paper by this friday. i suspect that i shan't, and i'm not too stressed by it, but it's not really helping to foster a carefree attitude to life.

and i am tired and irritable and not in the mood for difficult things, wanting something easy to fall back on.

Do the problems have to actually be solved, or can the "solutions" just be ways to momentarily take your mind off the horrors of real life? Cuz, I can probably do the latter. Not so much the former.
