between benevolence and morality

I started this morning in my office with an email from Tim, which always brightens my day. I enjoy his musings on life, science, dragon's hoards, papercraft, editing, and other bits and pieces that we play around with.
My work is still plodding. Getting there, but ever so slowly.
And I am reading The service of clouds, by Delia Falconer, which is not helping my growing obsession with photos. I've been looking at the linatree papercraft camera (which is an updated version of the Dirkon. In fact, it's been at the back of my mind for the last week or so. I'm trying to convince myself to find the couple of hours or so that it would take me to make this carefully and properly, perhaps with some modifications. Plus I am quite attached to the thought of decorating it myself, despite the rather attractive design on the linatree camera.
Hmm.
I saw Kyle last night, and his suggestion that I do something other than uni for a while makes sense when I look at the kind of things I'm obsessing about. But I don't think it's feasible, at least not for a while.
It was nice to see Kyle, and it's been a while. I got to do my big-sister thing, feeding people (Kale and Nate were also well-disposed to vegetable soup, pumpkin pie, bean salad and tzadziki) and bustling about the place. And Kyle told me about one of the art projects that he and Anna did, which sounded really cool - I continue to be astounded by the various ways in which he is excellent.
Plus, I finally managed to end my losing streak in Scrabble, which cheered me up some.
and now, to work!
