Identity politics quite frequently frustrate me because of their potential to turn every identity group into wacky separatists. I don't think, that as a white middle-class man, I should be implicated as culpable in oppression of people, in the same way that a working class-black woman should not be assumed to be exploitable. People DO lose sight of that point.
