well, nothing exciting to report. i've been sick for the last day or so, but i'm fairly sure that has now been sorted out thanks to the joy of self-administered antibiotics. the first round of antibiotics didn't help, because there were a couple of different things that i might have had ad i picked the wrong one first. anyway, i've sorted that out and taken the other set of antibiotics now, and it seems to have helped.

but i have to say, being sick alone in india is not nearly as much fun as you might think.

in other news: all the NIAS guestrooms are booked up for approximately forever, so i won't be staying there. still, now that i've worked out buses i don't think it will be too much of a problem to get there and back, and buses here don't seem too scary.

well, not much else to report, since the last day or so has been fairly unpleasant. i watched a heap of crappy movies and read more of thomas friedman's 'the world is flat', (which i bought because it looked relevant, and because every single street vendor here seems to be selling it) which i expected to irritate me and is delivering well. apparently, globalisation, free trade, and capitalism are going to make the world a better place for everybody. grrr.

ah well. time to get back to trying to access my uwa email address, which is the one i use for all my academic contacts and which is also currently malfunctioning. bastards.

"Being sick alone in India" and "fun" would never be in the same sentence in my brain, except for "being sick alone in India IS NOT fun!". I hope you get better and continue to experience what you're doing with utmost clarity.

telemarketing link funny

sorry you've been sick - i was wondering why we hadn't heard from you for a couple of days. i hope the antibiotics you took do the job. you're a masochist for reading such books, you know - but i guess it is important to read *everything* (even total c***). and the telemarketing link was very funny; thanks for the smiles:-) get better soon - i, too, wish i could be there to mother you:-)
