i've looked into the men of the trees carbon neutral program, and i can carbon neutral my airflights for fieldwork for about $93. hooray! i've been having a niggling guilt about the flying for quite some time, so this will help a little. not completely, but at least a bit.
(hmm. just remembered i am flying there and back, so i guess it will be closer to $186. but that's still ok!)
i strongly encourage all of you to carbon neutral [can one 'carbon neutral' something? would you rather 'offset the carbon emissions' or something?] your airflights and car travel. you can carbon neutral your car relatively cheaply, depending on how often you drive. plus also you can carbon neutral your electricity and gas use.
(isn't 'carbon' an odd word?)

on 2005-11-14 04:14 am (UTC)A) shouldn't it be 'people of the trees' or 'men and women of the trees'.
B) How is it that they claim to be 'of the trees'? Do they hide in trees? Do they 'commune' with them? Are they, in fact, Ents from Tolkien's brain made real and stalking the earth in poorly made 'man suits'? Are they merely the acolytes of said Ents?
C) 'Tree Army' or 'The People's Tree Liberation Army' are both cooler.
