Just had a brief look over the essays coming in. Apparently, half of them are incapable of understanding simple instructions:
* About half put their name on their essay,
* About a quarter used single spacing,
* In a few I glanced at, despite the notice I posted to the discussion board about Wikipedia and online encyclopedias, they had referenced Wikipedia. In their first paragraph. Several times.

Grrr. I will be telling them off, in the coming week. Sternly.

a fellow-postgrad-slave from history was talking about this, and i asked him what he said to his students. he replied, "i asked them, where's your self-respect?"
