Jul. 27th, 2005 09:30 ami went to a talk by nancy fraser last night, on 'reframing justice in a globalising world'. it was quite good, and reminds me to read more of her work. at some point i'll probably put a summary up here, for all you kids who i know were desperate to go, but somehow couldn't.
and then i cycled home, along the river. it's my favourite ride, even when there isn't a balmy summer breeze.
and got home, and realised for the first time in about forever there was no work, specifically, that i was meant to do. free time! but i was so tired, and i couldn't get up the energy to do any of the things i'd wanted to do. by the time i'd done the dishes, and put my washing up to dry, and fed mozambique, i was just exhausted.
i'm a little worried that my life is going to be moving towards "wake up - uni - capoeira - home - eat - sleep" repeat. must attempt to make sure i have enough energy for fiction writing and painting and people.
i think i should probably see some people. mostly i just mr wolf and officemates at the moment, which, while lovely, doesn't seem like a healthy model for a social life.
eep! time for another thrilling lecture on international relations...

on 2005-07-27 12:35 pm (UTC)fed mozambique?
now, i know you're big on social justice and welfare and all that, but i'm guessing you didn't actually feed the entire country of mozambique in an evening.
so i'm guessing mozambique is a pet?
*confused, but also amused*

on 2005-07-28 02:13 am (UTC)i called him mozambique because they had a lot of success there rehabilitating guerrilla fighters.
i am pretending he's a lover now, not a fighter. (he's still a fighter, though)
