Jun. 27th, 2005 10:04 amyesterday afternoon, i wandered around leederville with j and l and looked at books, and drank peppermint tea, and chatted. and it was actually rather pleasant. and we watched crash, which i was expecting to be horribly depressing. i was pleased that it was only very depressing. it also had an element that i quite like from narratives, and indeed the world at large: people who did bad things weren't punished - they had experiences that seemed to make them look at what they'd done and think, "wow, i've been such a fucking idiot". really, that's what i want from the world - i don't want people to be punished horribly for their sins, i just want them to see the reality of what they've done or thought, see it from another perspective, (which i think in many cases is punishment enough), and try to change and make up for it.
also, i have a marvellous plan for ending racism. unfortunately, it involves putting a whole heap of people in life-or-death situations (and spraining a few ankles). but, i think, on the whole it's worth it.
oh! here is my current favourite quote:
"Yes, but on the whole i think i would prefer going out with you to you having a nice knitted scarf."
what else?
i have been collecting secrets again, and enjoying it.
and i lost at trivial pursuit, but i am not sad. (it's trivial.)
and now i will do some work.
