Perhaps it is not the potential for you to be Awesome that is changing, perhaps instead it is your association/understanding/definition of Awesome?
I read a book - something fiction recently that was talking about the way to victory was to be willing to redefine what that meant when circumstances changed. I've found it a bit useful myself recently, so maybe you might too?
