I decided to explore Amazon, to look for a book I've been wanting to get my hands on.
I ended up closing the window in a panic.
And then reopened it, and started making up a wish list. Hopefully this will put an end to my continual ability to either have money or remember which books I want, but never both at once.
( Now I say some things about buying presents for me. This is not broadly applicable. )
