what is wrong with people?
Oct. 12th, 2004 01:53 amok. i was going to bitch about the election, but i don't think that'd bring anything exciting and new to anyone's lives.
there's going to be a protest on this wednesday at 12:30 about it. or a time of mourning or something. ask for more details if you're interested, or i'm assuming indymedia will have something to say about it.
but anyway. i just saw an account by some girl of how she went to the trouble of locking two sim characters in a room and slowly killed them. now, i am fully aware that characters in computer games are not real and can't feel pain(although i'm sure if i was drunk and suitably full of discussion-juice i'd be willing to have some sort of rambling philosophical conversation to the contrary.)
but, at the same time, i worry that there are lots and lots of people out there who find this incredibly amusing.
and i'm not sure why.
i mean, there's always the obvious 'stupid use of time' argument, but i think it goes deeper than that.
pfft. perhaps i am just a stupid hippy or something. but i do wish people thought more about what they're doing with their lives.
