rhyllI've been reading Will Man Fly? And other strange and wonderful predictions from the 1980s, and as well as all the the usual crazy you find in such books, I've really been appreciating the occupations listed, like:
T.V. Powderly, Populist Editor
Mary E. Lease, Reformer
William R. Grace, Capitalist
William Eleroy Curtis, Pan-Americanist
I also like some of the combinations:
Walter Wellman, Adventurer/Journalist
George Westinghouse, Inventor/Capitalist
Thomas Dixon, Jr., Minister/Cinematographer
I can't decide whether or not I like uni holidays. All the undergraduates are away, so it's blissfully quiet. But at the same time the holiday feeling seeps in under the doors and through the ventilation system, and I am in the mood for playing in the sunshine and doing nothing in particular. Writing lectures is not high on my list of fun things right now.
