I love the internet

After spending a morning, a couple of days ago, calling around computer shops and tech support lines and toshiba parts places trying to find a new adapter, I ended up buying it online. Felt a bit nervous about it, since this is a new problem for me and I wanted to double-check with a person that I was getting the right bit. But five minutes on the website + not-too-much-money + about a day (it arrived yesterday, but I didn't get home in time to pick it up) = fully functioning laptop.
I am also excited about:
* lecturing this year,
* my first article is now published,
* breakfast!

on 2007-03-01 02:48 pm (UTC)I'm studying the global justice movement, and my case study is the movement opposing GM crops in India (focusing around Karnataka). Also quite interested in various peripheral subjects, which I try (unsuccessfully) not to get too distracted by.
I'm trying to write a more serious, research-focused blog here (http://myresearchspace.grs.uwa.edu.au/blogs/skys_blog/default.aspx), which will also have my publication(s) on it at some point. I'm still getting the hang of it, though, and haven't quite found my writing style for that context yet...
