Firstly, hurrah! I have a new room! After much lugging around of furniture and driving around in the heat, much of it involving considerable discomfort for my housemates, I've acquired all the necessary Bits for a functioning room. Except for a door, but hopefully that's on the way. You can even see a picture, here.

In other news, I'd been having a discussion today about how I'm more or less over my social anxiety. Then, I decided to go down to UCC and say hi, and get an account, and check out the place. Walking up to the room, I got terribly nervous. The kind of nervous where you sweat and your hands tremble. Walked in, said shakily, "Is there a wheel member here?", Boys looked at me and said, "no" and then turned around and went back to shooting things. I walked straight out, and immediately started thinking "oh no! That was awful, everyone is very unfriendly! I'm never going back ever again!" Clearly, I have some way to go yet.

Computer boys aren't exactly known for their social skills.

I was shaking and sweaty on one matter I had before the Judge today. Quite embarrassing.

Everyone likes you at Swing. Mustang on Friday?

Lunch times at UCC can be hit and miss for finding people to sign you up. They tend to be dominated by the lgamers. Afternoons/evenings are better for sensible people. Please don't be scared away! 14% of our new members this year were female, and there's free pizza for freshers at the fresher welcome in early March!

(ps, hi. I'm [livejournal.com profile] lizbyrd's boyfriend :)

Hi, and thanks.

I went back yesterday afternoon and there were still no wheel members, but people were relatively friendly and told me that everyone had gone out for waffles, which seemed sensible to me.

The boys at UCC are stinky and unfriendly. Girls just make them nervous, so they try to drive them away.

We should have lunch!

That's really annoying. Boys, stop living up to stereotypes!

[livejournal.com profile] velithya informs me that she will be in UCC/UniSFA (the club further down the hall) at 11am and possibly 1pm Thurs and would be happy to find you a helpful Wheel member.

It's ok. I guess I'm just a bit prone to being nervous about it all since:
a) new people! eep! and
b) I really don't know much about computers, so I feel a bit out of place to begin with.

I'll try to go in again, though, and hopefully will make it to the freshers' welcome too.
