the current state of my friendships depresses me.
seeing miss n. & miss a. again makes me feel a bit abandoned. probably as much my fault as anyone's, of course.

i've been spending a bit more time alone lately, and i think i should expand that more. on secret missions.

It's weird once you reach your 20s, especially as postgraduate student. You're no longer thrown together on a daily basis through lectures, classes etc. I went through a period where I was very busy and stopped making any effort to see my friends, and our relationships pretty much withered away. Don't worry though- unlike dead plants, friendships can be brought back to life. A phone call is like water in this analogy!

Making the rather wild assumption that I'm not hideously insecure, and liable to jettison friendships once I become convinced that my beloved amica is no longer enamoured of my scintillating company.

Because, you know, I wouldn't want to trouble my previously-declared-best-friend by calling now and then.

Yes. I realise than I am an idiot. I am fully aware.

Heh. I worry constantly that my friends don't like me. In fact, I realised the other day that the reason I get anxious when friends from different groups collide is that i worry that they will like one another more than they like me, and decide to cut out the middleman.

I think that goes beyond idiocy into the realm of insanity.
