distractions

last night i was so excited about spending the night quietly, and finally getting some work done on my project (the proposal is due on June 7th, >insert panic here<).

but then stupid s called because his stupid girlfriend stupid broke up with him. so instead i got to do the tea-and-patting thing. except that he wasn't actually all that upset, by the time he came over, so instead i just got to tell him that he was crap for being at all sad, since:
a) she didn't like seafood, so obviously it was doomed,
b) it was only a two week relationship, and
c) it's not like it was childbirth. i mean, dear god, it's not like the breakup might tear his perineum.

also, i got to use my (new) favourite post-breakup line: "Sure, it hurts now, but you're still in denial. It'll hurt a shitload more later on when it sinks in properly."

consider yourselves warned. i should not be your first choice of post-breakup comfort. unless you want that special something to tip you over the edge.
