Nov. 21st, 2003 03:42 pmStood up by tutoring kids again. I went to pick them up and was informed that no, actually, they had to go to their brother's graduation tonight.
*sigh*
I sat around with them while they waited to be picked up though (just as well since their brother didn't come, so i had to call their uncle to come get them). Sat around under a tree and talked for a bit, and i gave them some lollies that i'd brought as bribes for the lesson.
Painful as the whole experience can be at times, i do still really like most of the kids that i tutor.
So that's made me somewhat cheerful.
Other things that've made me happy of late:
* ali understanding (and sharing) my need for others to accompany me to appointments (uni, doctors, etc).
* kyle lives with me! and he's quite endearingly naive at times.
* phonecalls from my mother (which i'm sure are more due to procrastination than maternal feelings :) )
* julian:
a) the other night he stood in front of the tv and did stand up comedy for alison and i, 'cos we had no video
b) later on, in bed, he kept pretending to be a zombie trying to eat my brains. i dread to think what other household inhabitants thought of the screaming and giggles.
* nathan, who i see rarely. but the other night he did stand in front of the tv and dance for ali and i. (no video.)
* oddly (or not), em's slight increase in happiness. after my post the other day i saw her for a while in the morning and while she seemed far from manic she was definitely a trifle up. and then i was dreading reading her lj in case it said "so i'm pretending to be happy in front of sky so she stops whinging and trying to force lard down my throat", and instead it is...a trifle up. yay. (also, the prospect of actually having em stay home instead of go to hospital is pleasant, although i'm not sure which is healthier for her.) tehehe. now here i am communicating through lj. oh well. hi em! *smiles*
anyway. i guess i should make my way back to civilisation now.
