it's becoming increasingly clear that i am, in fact, going to india.

it was just some kind of funny story, before.

today i got my vaccinations for:
hepatitis a and b
tetanus
polio
typhoid

later today i will put a deposit on my ticket.

on monday i will apply for visas to india and pakistan.

samina has offered to help me arrange the trip to pakistan, and to show me lahore.

yesterday i sent my proposal for an upgrade to a phd to jie.

i want to talk to my mother and father about this whole business. india's big, and i'm little, and i think i need some reassuring, and i need parental figures to tell me that they're proud of me and think i'm all grown up. i shall have to schedule phonecalls.

on a completely different note, here are some thoughts i have caught myself having of late:
* "If I could just get my head around this whole business with the eels..."
* "I want a pink dress!"
* "Sometime in my life, just once, i want to get to say "cutaneous? More like cute-aneous". Oh. that's horrible. why would i think that?"






ohmigod. i'm going to india.
