Perking up

I've been a bit off my stride the last few days (weeks). Lectures threw me off a bit, and now I'm finding it hard to build momentum for my thesis again, and of course that means that I haven't been doing anything very much (apart from reading fantasy, which doesn't really count).

Today I started playing around with Kvoctrain, and the world is looking like a shinier place already. It's not all that user-friendly and it took me a while to work out how to make it Do Stuff, but I'm now thoroughly enthusiastic about it. I've been entering the verbs that we've learnt so far in Greek class, and putting in the conjugations too. I'm still really slow at typing on the greek keyboard, in part because it kind of maps to a qwerty keyboard: "μ" is on the key marked "m", "κ" on the "k" key, and "β" on the "b" key. But then there are some weird ones too, like "ω" on the "v" key.

Hopefully this'll help me build up some of the areas that I missed when the rest of the class did it, like colours and occupations and so on.

It's nice to be feeling enthusiastic about something again. I like self-directed learning with no pressure (well, apart from wanting to be top of the class). And today we're learning the past tense! Hurrah!

Tomorrow:
* Meeting some guy who wants to ask me questions because he thinks that I Know Stuff about India.
* Back to doing my 500 words a day! Most definitely!
* More KVoc games!
* Babysitting Adorable Child!
* Bicycles in the sunshine (I hope)!
