coffee: 1, sleep: 0

my plan to deal with 'the sleep problem' is working out fairly well. now my days can go like this:

yesterday:
wake up at 7:30, go to uni, do some work, lecture at 10, tutorials 11 and 12, see bruce at 1, lunch, work, cycle to capoeira, dinner, cleaning, work 'til 11, read 'til 12.
today:
wake up at 6, do washing, cycle to uni, work, tutorial at 10, work til 1, lunch, read semi-related stuff (relax! yes! i got to relax!), dentist, cycle home, read, dinner, work.

does this seem normal to you? it's hard to tell, sometimes. i don't have much free time right now, i think. but then i don't think i want to give up any of the things i'm doing. and maybe this is just what life's like, after the lazy undergraduate days?

anyway, in the gaps between things i've found time to read a bit more lately, which is helping me maintain my grip on sanity.

books:
five after midnight in bhopal (?): very shocking story...i'd known a bit about it but not all the details. i found the writing style a bit awkward (perhaps because of the translation?) ties in a bit to my project.
the powerbook, jeanette winterson: ok, but i didn't enjoy it as much as i did her other books.
asleep, banana yoshimoto: excellent. i think just about everything by this author is great.

in other news: i made the mistake last lesson of asking one of the other girls at capoeira what was wrong, and accidentally entered the hideous world of capoeira's internal politics. ergh. i hope to avoid such experiences in the future.

fear not: when i am less tired i will start to be bothered with cut-text-stuff. yes, i know it's easy, but i will do it later.
