grr
I don't get to tutor for Democratisation in Asia anymore. More because of others' teaching requirements than my own, happily - at least it wasn't because someone decided that I can't do it. Looks like I'll be taking the first year unit again, which at least will be less work, I suppose. And if one of the other lecturers needs relief from their 2/3rd year courseload I and S. will be first to be asked if we want to tutor for his unit.
Also, they took my large desk away and swapped it for a smaller desk, in order to make sure that A Returning Academic won't be offended by getting a lower status desk.
*sigh*
I realise I haven't really done an update on Thailand yet. I suspect that it's one of those things that I just shan't get around to.
In other news, I'm reading George Monbiot's The Age of Consent right now (which I 'liberated' from my mother's house last time I was there). I'm finding his arguments incredibly unconvincing.
It is, however, stimulating a lot of thought. There are a heap of articles/chapters/books/rants that I'm tremendously excited at the thought of writing, and sadly I think I shan't get around to any of them.
[Edit, two hours later: I think George Monbiot is clearly Some Kind of Idiot, although he is - perhaps - well intentioned.]
